Auntie Bernie

I had a pet that taught me life lessons as well....but it was a rat, a heater vent and half a tail.

I once had a hamster named Becky when I was a child. I would let her run around the house sometimes and one day she got loose in the kitchen I think but she ended up getting electrocuted or something but she survived. Her fur was damaged but she lived for a few more years. I think she chewed through the stove cord. She chewed through some sort of electrical cord but she survived.

That's deep. Great post, Laura... this is a really insightful story.

What a waste! Hamster eyes are an important ingredient in many stews, soups, and pot pies.
